Sono state annunciate ieri le nomination per gli Emmy 2020 giunti alla 72esima edizione, considerati i premi più importanti per il mondo televisivo statunitense.
In diretta streaming Leslie Jones (SNL), Laverne Cox (Orange Is the New Black), Josh Gad (Frozen) e Tatiana Maslany (Perry Mason) hanno elencato i nomi degli attori in lizza nelle varie categorie.
Emmy 2020: le serie e i canali più nominati
La serie con più nomination è Watchmen del canale HBO con 26 candidature; segue The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel di Amazon con 20 nomination; al terzo posto Ozark di Netflix e infine con 18 nomination Succession di HBO.
Nella gara tra canali quest’anno a spuntarla è decisamente Netflix con un totale di 160 candidature rispetto a HBO a 106. Tra i nuovi canali streaming Disney+ colleziona 19 nomination; Apple TV+ 18 e Quibi 10.
Emmy 2020: nominati, sorprese e snobbati
Alcuni attori nominati figurano per la prima volta: Cate Blanchett, D’Arcy Carden, Billy Crudup, William Jackson Harper, Annie Murphy, Kaitlin Olson, Octavia Spencer, Cecily Strong e Zendaya.
The Mandalorian e Stranger Things menzionate tra le serie dramma dell’anno è un chiaro passo in avanti per le serie di genere molto spesso snobbate in passato.
A proposito di poca considerazione, le attrici transgender di Pose sono ancora una volta dimenticate (così come lo show) e solamente Billy Porter è considerato per la nomination. Altra grave dimenticanza sono i tre attori chiave della quinta stagione di Better Call Saul: Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, e Tony Dalton.
Infine viene da chiederci se Reese Witherspoon abbia litigato con qualcuno o semplicemente le sue tre performance hanno disperso i voti e quindi le abbiano fatto perdere la possibilità di essere nominata! Ricordiamo infatti che è presente in The Morning Show, Little Fires Everywhere e Big Little Lies.

La cerimonia, ancora non è chiaro come si svolgerà, andrà in onda sul canale americano ABC il 20 settembre e sarà presentata da Jimmy Kimmel.
