Il 26 febbrario 2023 si è tenuta una delle più importanti premiazioni dell’Award Season americana: i SAG Awards. Attribuiti dalla Screen Actors Guild (SAG), i premi sono stati assegnati dopo una votazione di oltre 120.000 membri. Passaggio fondamentale per gli Oscar, di cui i SAG Awards sono spesso premonitori, vediamo nel dettaglio i vincitori della stagione 2023.
SAG Awards 2023: Vincitori nella categoria Film
Nella categoria cinematografica, la famiglia di avventure “multiversali” Everything Everywhere All at Once ha dominato molte delle sezioni in cui era nominata. Oltre a vincere la statuetta per il Miglior Ensemble, hanno ottenuto la vittoria anche Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis e KeHuy Quan, quest’ultimo diventando ufficialmente il primo attore di origini asiatiche a vincere nella categoria di Miglior Attore Non Protagonista. Il film, che aveva già conquistato diversi premi alle premiazioni di Producers Guilds Awards e Directors Guilds Awards (rispettivamente assegnati dai produttori e dai registi).
Non è stata una sorpresa l’assegnazione del Miglior Attore Protagonista a Brendan Fraaser per la sua metamorfica interpretazione in The Whale.
Niente premi per The Banshees of Inisherin, la comedy dark ambientata negli anni 20, nominata in diverse categorie in cui Everything Everywhere All at Once ha dominato. A mani vuole anche Cate Blanchett per Tar e Austin Butler per Elvis: la prima aveva vinto il Golden Globe e il Critics Choise Award per la sua interpretazione di Lydia Tar, il secondo si era guadagnato il Golden Globe come Miglior Attore Protagonista per la pellicola di Baz Lurhmann del noto cantante.
SAG Awards 2023: Vincitori nella categoria Serie TV
Non sorprende la vittoria in diverse categorie per la seconda stagione di The White Lotus: Jennifer Coolidge vince come Miglior Attrice Protagonista e la serie tv della HBO guadagna il SAG anche come Miglior Ensemble in una Serie Tv Drammatica. Il protagonista del drama targato Netflix, Ozark, Jason Bateman, ha vinto come Miglior Attore in una Serie Tv Drammatica.
Nella categoria delle Comedy, Abbott Elementary ha vinto per l’Ensemble, mentre Jeremy Allen White ha (meritatamente) portato a casa la statuetta come Miglior Attore in una Serie Comedy, mentre Jean Smart ha vinto la statuetta nella medesima categoria femminile.
