Nonostante fosse stato Westworld ad aggiudicarsi ben 22 nominations agli Emmy, chi porta a casa i maggiorni onori quest’anno è The Handmaid’s Tale con il suo racconto distopico, segnando anche per la prima volta la vittoria, come miglior serie, di un canale di Streaming come Hulu. Si porta a casa lo stesso numero di premi Big Little Lies di HBO. Vincono due premi a testa le commedie Veep e Atlanta.
