Il 15 Gennaio sono stati assegnati i premi cinematografici da parte della critica americana, i Critics’ Choice Movies Award. Come per i Golden Globes e le nomination agli Oscar le punte di diamante di quest’anno sono ‘Birdman‘, ‘Boyhood‘ e ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel‘. Mentre il primo si è portato a casa sette statuette, il secondo ha vinto nelle categorie importanti come Best Picture e Best Director. Anche sul fronte degli attori sono stati premiati i già vincitori dei Golden Globes: Patricia Arquette e JK Simmons come Best Support e Julienne Moore come Miglior Attrice. Le statuette speciali le hanno ritirate Jessica Chastain, con il premio Critics’ Choice MVP Award per il suo lavoro in quattro film durante l’ultimo anno, Kevin Costner ha ritirato il Lifetime Achivement Award e infine Ron Howard ha ottenuto il Critics’ Choice Louis XIII Genius Award.
